I pray I am being hyperbolic and shocked beyond reason...but I fear not.

One consideration:

*****

One final note on George W. Bush’s management style and his Harvard Business School background does not derive from the classroom, per se. One feature of life there is that a subculture of poker players exists. Poker is a natural fit with the inclinations, talents, and skills of many future entrepreneurs. A close reading of the odds, combined with the ability to out-psych the opposition, leads to capital accumulation in many fields, aside from the poker table.

By reputation, the President was a very avid and skillful poker player when he was an MBA student. One of the secrets of a successful poker player is to encourage your opponent to bet a lot of chips on a losing hand. This is a pattern of behavior one sees repeatedly in George W. Bush’s political career. He is not one to loudly proclaim his strengths at the beginning of a campaign. Instead, he bides his time, does not respond forcefully, at least at first, to critiques from his enemies, no matter how loud and annoying they get. If anything, this apparent passivity only goads them into making their case more emphatically.

It is already working.

Multiple Arab-American entities have issued press releases stating that the furor over this is pure racism. Even John Zogby has chimed in.

Now, Bush looks like the only man in Government willing to give Democratic Arabs a fair shake. Guess who will be the big losers, should they pursue the matter? The very same bozos looking to withdraw our troops from the middle east.

Arabs have lots of money, guess which political party just lost a ton of it?

I'm going to rant on this later, but I swear, FReepers need to give their President just a little credit sometimes.

Thanks for the excerpt and link to his prowess at poker which I had forgotten about, but he is playing with marked cards in Snow and Sanborn and his bluff will be called to all our sorrow.

I really can't stand to see this man crushed like this and I pray someone with some influence can convince him to fire those who have used him and abused him and us.

I'm just not going to deal with this any longer. I have failed too often in the political field to instill honesty and integrity and the one glorious moment Sunday when Allan Simpson so eloquently (ha-ha) deveined the press was the only shining memory for me.

Sad, very sad.

GWB has been a royal flush down the toilet on immigration.
