So, basically, Joran doesn't want to clear him name.

Didn't he say he would come here w/o a lawyer to clear his name?

Default? Meaning just a no show? Would there be any repercussions for default?

If they get a Default Judgment I'm sure they can prevent the Van der Sloots from profiting from anything in the United States anyway. Oh dear, no book or movie deals. The proceeds would be instantly attached.

Thanks. I didn't think of the movie/book thing. Great. Read that if they default, they may still be liable for the costs of lawyers, etc. for Holloways.

This time I was able to read the document. Great stuff. I'll place my bet now that the Van der Sloots WILL default. These cowards will NEVER risk being questioned under oath by someone like John Q. Kelly - never.

I haven't seen Shebacal post for quite awhile now. Wonder where she is? Perhaps she's on vacation. We know it won't be in Aruba tho don't we? LOL

I won't get to spend everyday of the three months there, but it's less than an hour from my home. I do feel blessed and I'm excitedly looking forward to it.
Besides, I don't think I'll have internet access down there, so will have to come home for a FReep fix. I had to make a choice, laptop or motorhome. I chose the motorhome.

Great asked John a quick question and she said the motion of dismissal has been filed and now you have a period of time to respond is that right? John said yeah we have 30 days to put in our opposition to the motion and we have another 10 or 15 days or so to response to our opposition papers in and it’s on to oral argument on May 17th in State Supreme Court. Greta said we will see you here on May 16th and 17th here on the show now that you tipped me off to that.

Greta said you were in Aruba and met with KJ how long did you meet with her. John said for a couple of hours of the course of two days. Greta said what was she like during that conversation. Did you have any sense that of confidence that she is going to resolve this criminal investigation? John said first of all Greta remind me not to go down there right after you’ve been there. I sought of got caught in your wake when I got down there by the way. John said she was terrific and talked for a long time.

John said KJ was terrific and they talked a long time. Actually your interview with Joran and a couple of others have sort of breathed a little bit of new life into the investigation. They are certainly going over every line of every line and every response he gave to you know your questions and other interviews he did and also and they are looking at everything very carefully and looking new leads and looking for contradictions and inconsistencies obviously.

Greta said one of our sources told us that Chief Dompig said he wasn’t interested in our deposition style interview with JVDS. She is the prosecutor has she actually seen the interview. John said sure and if Dompig had said that I think he might have been just being a little flip or being a little sarcastic he gets a little edgy at times but he is sure he is very focused on your interview and the responses given during it.

Greta said do they have any new information any new direction any new strategy. John said they believe they have some new information and they have a consistent strategy and they are fully committed to this still and some point there was talk about cutting back on the investigation but that’s not happening now they are still utilizing all the resources and they are making a full court press on this still as I said the interviews and the things that have come to light lately breath a little more life into it. Greta said John they’ve said that every time and everybody that comes back from talking to them says that very thing. Greta said have they actually provided you specifics so that when you walked out you felt you really knew more then when you walked in the door. JQK said yeah there was a couple of things that we had talked about before that made him feel a little more comfortable. John said the one thing that was sort of the big pointed issue was this search of the sand dunes that he has had problems with both Janssen and Dompig that they can’t seem to get it done and we’ve through TES we’ve offered to have the state of the art technology this computer assisted radar tomography which is basically this ground penetrating sonar go to the sand dunes and within a day or two and determine whether there is a body there or not. It would certainly in their benefit to be able to eliminate that a possible site of a location of a body and get rid of the witnesses they deem credible with regard to that too. They should just eliminate that one way or another. Greta said they say yes or no to that? John said they are working on it. Greta said that is ridiculous John that is absolutely patently absurd either they want to the help or they don’t. Greta said it’s not going to take anything to come up with that one and John said I agree.

PANEL DISCUSSION:

Ted just said I am sick and tired about what these investigators and these so called prosecutors in Aruba are thinking about. They have been thinking for nine months, nothing has happened for nine months. Here it is that we have allegations out here that this Chief of Police is not even looking at unedited that you and your staff have done. Ted said one of things they should do right away and he doesn’t think they have done it is that Cuomo tape they should get the unedited aspect of that tapes and they should take your tape and they should put them side by side and see if there is any inconsistencies.

Greta said anyone want to defend Aruba for not accepting the help to do a free search of the beaches. Greta said come on Jeff you’re the defense lawyer can you defend Aruba on this. Jeff said this is a tough one maybe they already have the own experts coming in and they don’t want to compromise their investigation so maybe they have something we don’t know about.

Bernie said maybe the tooth fairy is going to do it.

Jim said Santa Claus in his off time from Christmas is going to fly in with a sleigh and look at the sand dunes.

Bernie said if these guys do anything more thinking about what they are going to do in the case their brains are going to fry.

Greta said this family has been tortured and the idea that they are just sitting around thinking.

Ted just said I’m upset of what Aruba is not doing.

Jeff said what are they doing about other suspects? Let’s just say that Joran’s interview he was finally telling the truth the rest of the times he’s lied. What are their other suspects avenues that they are pursing. A good investigator as Ted will tell you is got a lot of different suspects and may be looking at a lot of different explanations as to who may have committed this crime and he hasn’t heard anything that they are doing.

Greta said the idea that if the family wants a search and it’s being offered that it’s being thought about is what is appalling.

Jim said a lot of their suffering has been caused by Joran Van der Sloot at this point.

Thanks for posting this link, Vn_Survivor. I didn't pick this up in my recent look at Findlaw. I'm believing it spells out the accusations in the civil suit in it's entirety.

I can only hope that Kelly and Scott Balber can prove these allegations. I cannot imagine that reputable attorneys would jeopardize their reputation by signing onto questionable evidence. (Then again, I don't know. I recall Guragos in the Scott Peterson case suggesting a cult may have killed Lacy.)

We all know Tacopino isn't buying it...is countersuing. While I agree that liar is not defined as murderer, in this instance, one or more of these liars is holding back information about what happened to Natalee.

I'm puzzled. Why doesn't John Kelly see this? Aruba has been offered the opportunity to have ground-penetrating sonar by TES. If Aruba had this state-of-art technology, one would think they would have used it a long time back. Who can justify their refusal of this TES equipment, if they TRULY want this crime solved? Nothing new here...we have reason to distrust the Aruban gov't., IMO. And they've given us lots more reason to believe they do not want to solve the case. I think it cannot be explained by their ineptitude...there's more going on here, as I know you all believe.

There is a lot missed in the written word. You had to hear how JQ Kelly said it along with his facial expressions and body language. He is no one's fool.

Very true; sorry I missed it. I caught Greta's show Thurs. nt. when it was half over. I was determined to wash my hair, in the basement sink.

Why did Greta respond with "ridiculous"?

I'll trust that you believe "He is no one's fool." I've been concerned that all the claims in the civil suit can be proven. I believe Beth has gathered a lot of information and testimony over the last 8 mos. Tacopino may be in for a surprise...I hope. Is he privy to every word that has been spoken during those months? It should be interesting. I have not heard yet whether a U.S. court has agreed to take this case.

I've read the civil suit in it's entirety. Strong accusations.

I'd like to see Joran grilled by someone who will pounce on every questionable answer he gives. And as I've said before, if either of the Kalpoes did not cause Natalee's death, maybe Deepak will eventually speak out in their defense.

I agree and will take it one step further. I think it shows these comments came from Joran and/or the Kalpoes. Never Natalee. I think these statements were created to sling more mud on Natalee's reputation. Total fabrications.

I think Joran has told the truth on occasion. Like when he admitted to having sex with Natalee as she was coming in and out of consciousness. I believe Natalee was drugged and I doubt there was ever much conversation between Natalee and any of the three.

I think that missing hour or so from the 1:15am time they arrived at Joran's home (but didn't go inside) until they were spotted by the gardener at 2:30am, is the time frame of Natalee's assault and probable death. I think the gardener spotted the suspects as they were trying to dispose of the body.

I think the unidentified person in the backseat of Deepak's car seen by the gardener might have been covering the body. There is a reason the FBI saw blood inside Deepak's car. An injured or dead Natalee had to be there at some point.
