It's time to go to war with Iran and Syria.

Seems stupid with the majority of the US armed forces parked between the two in Iraq.

Isaiah 17:1 The oracle concerning Damascus. "Behold, Damascus is about to be removed from being a city And will become a fallen ruin.

Now that's interesting, isn't it? I think Syria is just the dumping ground for those countries who have WMD starting with an "I". Thanks for the ping.

H'mmm.

Jane's is the Gold Standard in foreign reporting on national security issues.

If Syria and Iran have reached this accord as reported...it inevitably makes even more credible the widely-held belief that Syria made a pact to help Saddam hide his WMDs...

Storing WMD's is becoming a Syrian habit...

And it is one that I think is soon going to cost the boy Assad his life.

The eye doctor is not his father.  The rookie moves he has made to emulate him has been a disaster and his Generals are getting worried.

The US Military will be largely complete with the Iraq situation soon, by this summer, and all eyes will cast about for the next mission.

Looking east or looking west from Iraq shows bad guys on both sides.

I am convinced Assad is out in 6 to 12 months, by assassination or coup.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy
Cheers,

Under the accord, Iran would also be prepared to operate "advanced weapon systems in Syria during a military confrontation." Jane's said.

What this means, specifically, is that Syria has offered itself as a launching pad for an attack on Israel. That relieves the Iranians of the necessity of a research program to develop a reliable long-range theater nuclear delivery platform.

This is sheer insanity, on the order of the Soviets setting up missile bases in Cuba. Young Dr. Assad had better have a very, very deep bunker.

Hey, good thing that WMD doesn't involve any terror state actors! I mean, if these guys were all working together behind our backs that would be bad, right? Iran, Paki, Syria; they could really create a problem running a shell game together.

Good thing its all just a paranoid fantasy. I'm sure some rogue hack CIA agent will take a trip soon to confirm it as a fantasy soon. I'll feel so much safer then.

The eye doctor does seem to be on shakier ground as each day passes. His actions seem to be more & more of a desperate man trying to hold off the inevitable. Unfortunately, it may come to pass that even more radical elements in Syria will take over the government. I don't see the Syria problem as having a happy ending anytime soon. Sometimes better the devil you know than the devil you don't.

"Isaiah 17:1 The oracle concerning Damascus. "Behold, Damascus is about to be removed from being a city And will become a fallen ruin."

A pretty worthless piece of prophecy since Damascus was destroyed in 741 bc just before Isiah started writing.
