[...Chimpanzees seem almost human, and scientists have
maintained for decades that chimps are, in fact, 98.5
percent genetically identical to humans...]
Many items in nature are chemically similar to one another,
but that doesn't make them similar in appearance or
effect. It's not the molecules that a substance is made of
that defines it, but rather how those molecules are arranged.

""...yet it appears to me (whether rightly or wrongly) that direct arguments against christianity and theism produce hardly any effect on the public; & freedom of thought is best promoted by the gradual illumination of men's minds, which follow from the advance of science." What a sneaky conniver! Get it?"
Yes, you are still stretching for things you can't reach. The quote shows that Darwin was not going to bully people into believing what he did, but would let them decide for themselves. How terrible!

I believe what are being called TF's are independant species that were the same when they were created as when they became extinct.
And you know what? You are absolutely correct. Despite what you learned in church, there has never been and will never be a "Magic" animal that is born as one species and dies as another - in such a fantastic happenstance as to create a fossil.
Think of it this way: ALL species are so-called transitional species. For an organism to survive, it had to be viable - it was its own species living happily for a period of time. the SPECIES was "transitional," the "INDIVIDUAL" certainly was not.

You said, though, that you couldn't rationalize the contradiction, so you rejected the bible. I finally accepted that if I'm going to believe the Bible, then I have to believe exactly what it says. Some around here convinced me of that.
I'm tired of religious discussions. Too many people believe too many different things.

My postings clearly show me in the ID camp because I think they should be heard.
They were, weren't they. And they receive a 139 page whupping too.

I think you are arriving late to this discussion.
I posted a link of scientific evidence differentiating primates and humans. No one debunked it. The link is still out there in this thread with excerpts from the article. So have a look into the "alternate universe." Get back to me once you have.
Moreover, I sustained the point that the desire to see humans and apes as similar obstructs scientific views of the differences. This is why it is important not to approach science with an agenda or axe to grind.
The entire humiliation theme indicated toward ID scientists is ridiculous.

"My postings clearly show me in the ID camp because I think they should be heard."
Then why did you make the statement about your *Faith in evolution is declining*, when you clearly don't accept evolution at all?

I know what he is saying because I have actually analyzed it...and many letters written in this style...BTW there's nothing special or unique about it but it takes someone who is not hero worhipping to do it objectively.

I am more committed to the evidentiary processes of science than the particular theories.
I really don't have a terrible problem with evolution. How things are advocated does matter to me a great deal.

See my post #1586. Are you being sarcastic?

I know what he is saying because I have actually analyzed it.
But, of course, you won't share your analysis because you're big on making assertions and not supporting them. Speaking of which, I'm still waiting for you to support your claim that "500 theses" were written on Piltdown Man. But you won't support the claim because you were lying when you made it.

Nearly 1600 posts, and you still don't understand what a theory is... Sad.LOL, it is better to be thought a fool than to confirm it. Congrats on your confirmation.

The question isn't what others believe, it's what you believe. You said that you stopped believing in the bible.
Do you still believe in God?

Do you still believe in God? As I said, I'm tired of discussing theology. No two people believe the same things, yet all are convinced they hold total truth. It's a useless endeavor.
