It wasn't written for the consumer because the consumer doesn't remit the tax.

There are two problems with that. First, the consumer is the one who will be expected to vote for or otherwise support the FairTax, so informing them is the highest priority. Second, "hiding" the tax in the sticker price is very bad on many levels. If you'd like to see why, look no further than the gas pump. Gas stations are blamed for "price gouging", when in reality it's the politicians who should be lynched for "tax gouging."

I couldn't agree more but that's the way the law is written.

BTW, the law does require a receipt showing the tax seperately stated and charged so they can't hide it in the price.

All that proves is the law was hashed together, poorly written and contradicts itself.

The FairTax won't be "hidden in the sticker price"; it will be broken out as a separate line item on the receipt. The FairTax is FAR superior to the current system from a standpoint of visibility.

As I (and others) have told you the tax is not at all "hidden" in the "sticker price. If you'd read the FairTax bill you'd see that the receipt required to be given to the buyer (the real taxpayer) calls out that the price of the thing shows on one line and then the amount of the tax on the next. That's exactly the opposite of "hidden".

FairTax opponents always persist is making fraudulent claims such as yours and since you do that it clearly marks you as an opponent of the FairTax..

Agreed. This is why both the $ amount of federal tax and the tax inclusive % must be printed on every receipt (unlike gas taxes).
