It means no such thing. It means that I would go to a psychiatrist for chest pains if I were you, but since I am not, I would go to a cardiologist.

You'd be wasting your time and money if you didn't start with a non-specialist. Even a psychiatrist could rule out heart disease if your pains were something else.

In the case of some folks on this thread, I'd recommend starting with a shrink.

Yes, in a pinch I might use a podiatrist for something other than feet.

And I wouldn't be wasting my time with a non-specialist. I have had a heart attack, so I wouldn't waste my time with a psychiatrist it might lead to room temperature for me.
