it is very common to see Crosses in the ground at sites of fatal traffic accidents in the US.....they don't seem to get removed, but are maintained much like flowers in a cemetary. the Cross on the beach might be the equivalent, placed by a tourist or even some local.
Yeah I agree. It is common in the US and here also, to see "shrines" at the spot on the road say where some teens were killed. Every year a group goes back and has a little ceremony at the shrine. In Natalee's case, I wonder if someone is trying to send a message.
