It occurs to me that a letter-writing campaign from individual Americans to the commom Aruban people might be the way to get something done. I mean the actual Arubans, not business associations, govt officials, etc. I sincerely believe the latter propagandize the common Arubans and misdirect their hopes and espirit de corps. Lets face it, the place is a plantation and needs a revolution, and the Natalee matter could be the spark. I am sure that 99% of the common Arubans have more interest in each others well-being than loyalty to their masters who are already talking about expanding their operations elsewhere, as can be seen by this talk of other "developments".

I'll bet that a few thousand such letters sent by an equal amount of DIFFERENT American writers, EACH LETTER DIFFERENTLY WORDED with the same basic message would have more effect than the many thousands already sent to the rulers. But they should not be form letters in any case......the Arubans themselves will take care of circulating them and discussing them......to date, all they know is what their rulers have put into their heads. The letters would need to be sincere, compassionate, and non-threatening, IMO, and call on the integrity and human decency of those who would receive them.

The Aruban white pages or some other address book is all that would be necessary.......I'm not sure if the average Aruban households all have telephone service.....

fascinating addition, and one that in its unique approach probably would have an overwhelming positive effect; there is a folks on folks skill needed that can conversationally demonstrate a sincere interest in the effect on each aruban, and that needs to be a central inclusion, so these recepients comprehend the boycott and battle is institutional (ALE, the prosecution and court system that has arrogantly freed these self-admitted criminals) and not individual, and they can do something about their victimization even if natalee can't do anything about hers, and what could be more fair?

To facilitate writing letters to individual Aruban citizens, as per your excellent idea, here is the website for the Aruba White Pages for names and addresses:

Aruba White and Yellow Pages

After the street address, I think it should be: Aruba, Dutch Antilles.

To compose a letter in Papiamentu, here is a translator website:

English to Papiamentu Translator

Here is a sample of the translator:

English:
Dear Sir, I want to tell you why I will not vacation in Aruba until the case of Natalee Holloway is solved and the guilty ones go to prison.

Papiamentu:
kerido meneer, ami ke na bisa abo pakíko ami lo no fakansi den aruba te e afèr di natalee holloway ta solushoná í e kulpabel esunan bai na piskalat.

For an English to Papiamentu Dictionary:

"Letters to the Editor" could be sent to Jossy Mansur, at Diario newspaper. Maybe he would print them:

DIARIO & ARUBA DAILY
Engelandstraat 29
Aruba, Dutch Caribbean
