Ah, glad you mentioned head count.

When the poll was first posted, I expected the "yes" votes to gain a solid majority. My guess was that "No" would be exceedingly lucky to get 30%; and that only a couple of hundred FReepers would even be interested enough to vote. Imagine how SHOCKED and STUNNED I was when I clicked here and these numbers appeared!

Member Opinion

No 85.4% 1,074
Undecided/Pass 9.6% 121
Yes 5.0% 63
Total 100.0% 1,258

As stated, the question mixes prohibition of both guns and drugs via exercise of the commerce clause. A fairer test of opinion here would be to ask:

(1) Does the federal commerce clause power authorize comprehensive federal prohibition of marijuana cultivation and commerce?

(2) Does the federal commerce clause power authorize comprehensive federal prohibition of frivolous state and federal lawsuits against gun manufacturers, sellers, and owners?

(3) Does the federal commerce clause power authorize comprehensive federal prohibition of handguns?

My guess is that (1) would narrowly get an affirmative, (2) a very strong affirmative, and (3) a resounding no.
