Another article recounts her testimony under oath that racial preferences should be considered in redrawing voting districts. It's in the same piece that discusses her disdain for the Federalist Society.
This is my first post to FR. The thought of having to be stuck with affirmative action for any longer scares me to death. It is a scar on this nation. When O'Connor retired I believed that affirmative action would be soon following her out. With Miers I am not so sure. Thus, this post.
Neither of those is a fair summary of what the article said.
I read the first item as wanting Democratic Representation in the redrawing of voting districts. The second, being in Texas and not the "Ivy League" East, it sounded like she was being modest about the Federalist Society, since the Texas Bar and other Texas groups were more varied in opinions than in the East.
And, this is what I got from the media article. No telling what the whole facts and context were.
Excuse me?
