Sorry, but Greta is extremely naive if she believes VDS really wanted to solve this case. VDS did everything he possibly could to botch this case up, and when Beth, friends, family and the media wouldn't go away like he was hoping, VDS is suddenly removed and things are finally progressing with the new LE.
VDS & PVDS are best friends and while VDS did have PVDS held for questioning, notice how quickly he was let go. It was all for show, but he didn't fool many. I don't give VDS credit for anything but protecting PVDS, Joran and the Kalpoes. Good riddance to that crooked cop!
