Gotta go for a while. Hope we have some valid news today. Is Aruba in the Eastern time zone?

Why is Natalee not on FBIs Missing Persons List
by Tom
Richard Shelby, United States Senator from Alabama, replied to one of our monkeys over at the Scared Monkeys Discussion Board regarding Natalee Holloways disappearance and her failure to make the FBIs Missing Persons list.
His rational is that Natalee did not disappear from US Soil. Another missing person, Amy Bradley, who disappeared in the same part of the Carribean, was on a US based cruise ship, so she was allowed on the list.
Here is an except. Please click on the image to see the full size.
We are thankful that the fine Senator has responded so, and has taken such an interest in Natalees disappearance. He has been instrumental in marshaling resources to help the family.

However, in talking to a couple people already, they brought up some examples of situations that may not fit the criteria that the Senator has outlined. If you know of any instances where a person has been put on the FBIs Missing Persons list, please go to our discussion board and join the thread under Natalee Holloway discussing this topic. If we can show enough accurate and specific examples, we may give Senator Shelby the ammunition to take to the FBIs office and get Natalee on the list.

I haven't seen anything definitive on that either. Some have even rumored that she was fired for stealing.
I thought I read a newspaper account of her being fired for getting a food order wrong, but with so many changing rumors, who knows.
I 'think' they are two hours earlier than EST. But I could be wrong on that.
It occurred to me that Joran telling 20+ different stories has a purpose. I believe his father or some other lawyer advised him to do this after they found out he said some incriminating things early on. The reason could be to somewhat discredit and lessen the impact of the early incriminating statements he made. It could be an attempt to make him seem like a shaken up kid that will say anything.
Funny thing is that OTHERS suggested that the abuse button was hit - before my post, why don't you rag on them, too?
Here is the tif of Sen. Shelby's letter. Please hit the link to see it (I think it is too large to post. You will have to scroll down on the page to see it):

Thanks I was just trying to find out about the shoe part and came across this post. It all makes sense now, shoes, car parked by pond, washing car. As tight lipped as these boys are you would think they are seasoned criminals. Me I would be singing like a canary. Of course, if there had been some investigators to ask questions properly at the start, we might have had confessions. I am not slapping around even, just knowing how to trip them up.

Hey there slapped(!!!!!!) There is a post from Mrs. Red on the Lively discussion and she spoke with Red & said a body has NOT been found.
Go to the Forum Index and read the post about the landfill posted by Elaine....very interesting. Then there's another one (can't remember the title) from Dan in Texas (or something like that)...right now, FOX News is covering live from London....they have surrounded an apt. complex in Scotland Yard where one of the four suspects (possibly two) wanted in connection with bombings...... Lot of action! Swat Team, Military, Police....
Tim of ES said he would have a crew with a front end loader and a backhoe at the landfill today, and team members at two other locations (one being the pond).

Natalee Holloway Witness Stumbles: Leads Thin
(http://www.riehlworldview.com/carnivorous_conservative/2005/07/natalee_hollowa_81.html)
ArubaToday, an Aruban publication in english, online here, claims that a witness discovered by Twitty family Private Investigator, T.J. Ward in the Natalee Holloway case may be of little real value.
Private Investigator T.J.Ward,who is working for the Twitty family, speaks to a journalist from People magazine about his investigation. Ward s recent ?nding of a witness sadly ?zzled out after she couldn t identify the make or color of the car or even the date or time it passed by her home adjacent to the Racquet Club.
Reportedly, it appears her ability to place the car of Deepak Kalpoe at the location is in serious doubt.
The report from ArubaToday also disputes earlier claims found in Diario, another Aruban publication - that it seemed as though something had been found in the pond.
Crews expected to finish draining the pond on Friday, said Gabriel Kelly,a spokesman for the island s fire department, which was coordinating the effort. So far we haven t found anything out of the ordinary,Kelly said.

Aruba Threat Causes Security Concerns: Impacts Holloway Investigation
http://www.riehlworldview.com/carnivorous_conservative/2005/07/aruba_threat_ca.html
If I drank, I'd need one right now. This is either breaking news, or I've been played. This post warrants a qualifier.
The vast majority of my reporting here has been based upon identified sources. I've adhered to that standard in every case, except one. Occasionally, one source has provided me quality information and always remained anonymous.
To date they haven't been wrong, sometimes putting me hours - and once or twice - a day or more ahead of large media. This source has not been responsible for the preponderance of reporting I have done on the Natalee Holloway disappearance. But their contribution has been significant for its content, just the same.
I was contacted today and told I would have a breaking development tonight not directly related to the resolution of this case and that it would break in Aruban media tomorrow. Given this qualifier, I've decided to go ahead and make the post. If I die on the vine, so be it. But at least I have given as full a disclosure as I possibly can.
Reports suggest that over a week ago a letter came into a government office in Aruba postmarked from the United States, it is alleged that the letter threatened the government of Aruba that "If they didn't give Natalee back," an as yet unidentified group behind the letter would take action against the island.
According to a source, those actions included contaminating water and meat imports flowing to the island from the United States. I did verify that the US is the largest importer of those and other products and goods onto the island. I am unclear as to what, if any other threats may have been made at that time.
According to this uncorroborated report, it was this which precipitated Prosecutor Karen Janssen being dispatched to Holland and Dutch investigators taking over on the ground in Aruba.
Additionally, a prosecutor was also dispatched to FBI headquarters in Washington to share information and to work with the FBI. I've been told that this matter was kept extremely secret within a tight circle around the Prime Minister; the Minister of Justice and the Head of the Intelligence Office.
End note: That said, I realize that politics in Aruba are somewhat volatile and there is an election coming soon. It could serve the best interests of some if any seeming change in the approach to the Natalee Hollway investigation were the result of something other than an unacceptable investigation, which focused negative attention on certain political figures right now.
As I am unaware of the political affiliations of my source, I felt it best to add this end note to the post.
Well said. This thread has become a playground for verbal snipers. What a pity.
Because I do not respond to every post. It also may be that I responded to your post, because you have in the past strongly implied Natalee was less than a nice girl, and at the same time you stood up for Joran as the good kid.
That is likely the Brits SAS and not simply a SWAT team.
Yep. They don't always report everything correctly at SM, but they do get in a few interesting tidbits, or at least good recaps . . .
I did not stick up for Joran as 'the good kid'. Post a link to where I said Joran was a 'good kid'. If you can't then STFU and LMA.
Hi bolta_lightnin,
How do we know for sure who really posted that at SM???
Good question.
