The purpose of the prebate is threefold. One, as you wrote, it is to bring the Democrats into the fold because they like to give away money to a constituent group but even better, they like the idea of having reins on the tax code where, over time, they can alter the amount of prebate based on geography (NYNY and San Francisco recipients will claim they should get more, than say, those who live in Mississippi because of the cost of living) and of course, to make sure that everybody is receiving a monthly check from Uncle Sam so that they will always fall into the socialist line. Two, because people like to receive a free check. And Three, for the communists who also support this so-called FairTax, so that they can finally have the BIG (basic income guaranty) they always have desired where the rich (those who work and produce) feed, clothe, and house, the weak, the useless, and the stupid.

One of your more unthinking posts Finial. The prebate is not at all an income guarantee nor is it meant to be. Nor is it easily manipulated as you seem to think; I'd suggest you read the bill (which so far as one can tell you have not yet done).

The prebate is not based on geography, social status, amount earned or any other of the liberal "social injustices".

It is based on family size (period). You get the same amount as Bill Gates if you have the same size family.
