Why would a guy take a girl to the beach to make out (or to have sex or to rape her) when he has his very own apartment. It just doesn't pass the smell test. Particularly, if perhaps he had used a date rape drug to make her compliant. There are people walking on the beach and its sandy and hot. Not as ideal as an air-conditioned apartment. Not to mention the fact that his "mommie" (what kind of 18 y/o male calls his mother 'Mommie") is out of town and I'm sure his Dad turns a blind eye...boys will after all be boys.
I think all three boys said "the beach" to throw everyone off the trail. The answer probably lies in the carpet of Jurine's apartment...and the Aruba LE haven't even read about forensics and certainly have no first hand experience. I'd also bet the carpet has been shampoo'd within the last month.
