and you get reasonable witness accounts of a "white Suzuki" on the beach in the early AM.

Since I'm not familar with the beach, that may indeed be the case.

But I'm leery of johnny-come-lately witnesses. Suspicious timing.

Hey guys... Here is why I think the fishermen may have witnessed PvdS's "white" Suzuki on the beach. Below is an example of a Suzuki Samurai on inclined on a beach and viewed from behind. Any reasonable viewer could conclude it is light gray, but the vehicle body is actually black and only the soft top is light gray. This photo was taken in brood daylight. Imagine the same seen, at early dawn in low light, as Palladin suggested. PvdS's red Suzuki with its white top could easily appear "white" to the fishermen.

Now if you look closely at the link below... you can see another Suzuki in the background. It took me a while to spot it, but it is there!
