"My side" is not being condescending. Emotional, yes, not condescending. "Your side" seems to think that people who don't agree with you are just stupid. It's insulting.
We are all entitled to our opinions. Can we just stop being so personal?

And frankly, failure to seriously consider a report such as was presented today is not a sign of someone to be taken seriously so your complaint that some are treated as if they're stupid falls flat.
