Actually.
As a Southerner. I can say with certainty that whites in my Demographic vote conservative overwhelmingly...87% for W in 2004 in my homestate of Mississippi.
But you do raise flaws in my argument when you compare whites to Japan or to Kali libs.
Still, the fact remains that at least 2/3rds of Hispanics nationwide vote liberal and even that is somewhat skewed by the way Cubans vote so strongly Conservative.
Nationwide, it is "white" male and married "white" female voting patterns that keep our head above water.
We have added perhaps Japanese and Vietnamese to that as well. I'm not sure about Chinese. In NYC and SF they seem pretty lib.
Cubans, Arab Christians, and maybe subcontinent Indians all vote Right as well but they are Caucasian too.
What you have touched on is that race is only one component and not a responsible one. I don't think the color of one's skin nor the texture of their hair makes them vote a certain way.
But their culture might well.
Likewise the fact that they do vote a certain way is without question.
The fact that race can be part of this issue is not an excuse not to act.
And again, I'm unaware of any nation in history being asked to fall on their sword this way. Never.

True. And what's also interesting, there's a positive correlation between protestant British ancestry and conservative voting within the white population. On the other hand, a white person with predominantly Irish Catholic ancestry is still more likely to trend to the political left. Old grudges against the English among the Irish die hard and have been transformed in the American context to an aversion of WASPs.
