I received my Green Card three years ago and I still have two more years to apply for citizenship. The law said that a person who acquires Green Card via employment must wait five years before applying for citizenship after he or she receives the Green Card. Getting the US Citizenship will take somewhere from one to three years after the application has been filed.

I really hope I will have it as early as 2008, so I can vote.
