The current move in some States that are pushing for State resident rates in college for illegals never seem to mention that those seats have two expected actions. One is to educate the illegal aliens, a very fine and worthy deed in and of itself. The unmentioned one is the American (citizen) students who will not be able to get a seat in those courses.
Expected results that aren't mentioned, aliens with their college degree will be in supervisory positions making decisions about who should be hired and fired. What other companies will be doing business with their company. What countries will receive preferential treatment, etc.
When you look at what wasn't mentioned in the silk lined article, that is when you see the thistles and barbs that make the sweet smile turn into a hard and serious frown. Swallowing what was presented as a kind humanitarian act suddenly turns very bitter!
Why should a non citizen receive preferential treatment over citizens whose mothers and fathers have been working to help their communities and their country become a safe place for their children?
