These phony conservatives who claim the Conservatism purity are savagely attacking President Bush ...

Pot calling the kettle black, seems to me.

Bush has presided over a 28% increase in non-defense discretionary spending, and a multi-billion dollar government giveaway in prescription drugs. Does that sound "conservative to you?" Does that sound like "rolling back government largesse?"

Simple, factual critiques of Bush's record doesn't amount to "Mount Everest" as you put it, it's merely a defense of the principles of conservatism.

I agree. Those who defend every action of any politician are not so much devoted to conservatism as they are to creature worship.

while it is true that politicians deserve vigorous defending at times, they should also be held accountable when they err. President Bush is no exception, and he has erred terribly with regards to illegal imigration, government spending, etc.

Rolling back spending is a principle of conservatism. So is accuracy and telling the truth.

Discretionary spending over the last 4 years if you subtract both DOD spending and new Homeland Defense Type spending is about equal to the rate of inflation plus population increase.

What you describe as "non-defense" leaves out Home Land Defense. The figure is not 28%.

Give me the names of 10 conservatives in 435 member House and Senate who voted against the increased spending and the prescription drug benefit or banish yourself to the realm of fringe kook. When 99% of America says you're a freak...listen to them. Odds are you're not smarter than everyone else.
