It has been the goal of the South since the Civil War, to hide what they really believed and were really fighting for.

ROTF!!!!! Lincoln and the nothern congress put forth a new amendement that would guarantee slavery forever, so obviously if that was all the Confderacy was really fighting for, the had no reason to leave. Slavery was LEGAL while they were in the Union, and Lincoln advocating making slavery PERMANENT.

Once again misstating the facts.

What Lincoln advocated was to protect slavery where it already existed to avoid a war.

That was not enough for the South, which wanted to the right to expand slavery.

What Lincoln was suggesting was already legal and was only stating that he would uphold the Constitution, which meant that slavery where it existed would not be assaulted.

He would not allow it to expand and that was the platform of the Republican Party, to stop the expansion of slavery, not end it.

The lies of the Southern apologists never cease.
