I have work in 30 minutes, but I can say this:

It has been arguedon this thread by many others that the North in fact fired the first shots from that "innocent steam boat" floating down the Mississippi River. The one that was then shot at by Southern artillery.

If I can't find it soon, I'll leave you with the knowledge that it WAS addressed here. And that the verdict is "The North shot first"
