There is no killing here merely the cessation of an artificial prolonging of life. A life which, if left to God, would have ended long ago. Men kept Terri hanging on in limbo not God. There was no God in that debacle.

If terminally ill people stop eating are they committing suicide? Are they sinning? I'll let God decide those questions not a mob of the misguided.

Since you cannot distinguish between actively terminating lives and allowing nature to take its course with hopeless causes it is clear that you cannot understand what has happened here. P.T. Barnum's dictum remains on point.

Society will have to make hard choices when social resources are involved and that is what is paying to prolong these patients' suffering. Like it or not there is NO alternative.

I posted this before and I will post it again since you're the one with season tickets to Barnum's.

I don't buy your "RESOURCES" BS either. For those that think Terri should have been "ALLOWED" to die. BULL****!!!

We might as well close all the hospitals, send all the Doctors and Nurses home because patients wouldn't want to "Live" that way. While we are at it all pharmaceutical companies need to shut down because we need to let "Nature" take its course. I guess defibrillators can be used to jump-start your SUV's.

Patients who cannot feed themselves, can't walk, can't breathe without assistance may as well play in a busy highway because they are somehow less than human. Lets not waste money on health insurance either. I could go on and on, but I won't.

How stupid can you be? We're not talking about a 90 year old whose body and organs are failing and can't metabolize nutrients. We're talking here about a person who was an inconvenience to her legal guardian HINO. He starved her because she wouldn't die. He sought legally suspicious means to accomplish this. While her loving family fought tooth and nail against a corrupt system, while the whole world watched.

There are millions of less than "perfect" people who function and are productive, if even just to reflect GOD's grace. My nephew has Downs Syndrome, you would have him dumped in the emesis basin at birth.

Those of us who have been praying night and day know the value of life. Those who don't see the travesty of what occurred don't merit a response.

This was not GOD's will, but mans. Very evil self serving bunch of pathetic excuses for humans at that.

You just don't get it, and you never will.

That is all I will say to you.

First off, your reply to Justy was heartless and cruel. I don't expect that you would apologize for your comments.

"If terminally ill people stop eating are they committing suicide? Are they sinning? I'll let God decide those questions not a mob of the misguided."

If terminally ill people decide not to undergo another round of Chemo, does that mean they are committing suicide? You would argue it's a "sin" that they didn't do everything in their power for one more day of life? And I'm not talking about a old 90 year old here. What about the little children with cancer, who tell their parents "no more".."let me go". Are these kids committing suicide?

You are embarking upon a slippery slope here. I seriously doubt you have a living will, and expect you'd have my own right to a "living will" abolished. Without a living will, a husband or closest family member can make the decision to pull the plug. Even if that plug is a feeding tube, as cold as that may sound to you.

So maybe you'd enjoy being kept alive with a liquified brain, with no chance of ever recovering (with all due respect to Terri), but I certainly wouldn't.

I get it and it was not very difficult to do so.

TS was reduced to essentially a body with organs functioning because of the autonomic nervous system but that is barely human. Consciousness is the essence of humanity not mobility or even brilliance but consciousness above the level of plants. When the consciousness goes so does the humanity.
