Tancredo hired an American company to do the work. The company illegally hired a couple of illegal aliens unbeknowst to Tancredo. Tancredo did not knowingly or intentionally hire any illegal aliens and was quite alarmed to find out that the company he hired to do the work had done so

Tancredo spends a great deal of his time in Washington, DC. He's a congressman, you know. And when he's in his home district, he spends his time in his office. He may have never actually been home while the workers were there. And, anyway, should he have noticed a hispanic looking person if he'd immediately asked for his papers you'd be branding him a "racist" or some such crap.

You have nothing. Give it up and stop making yourself look like such an ass.

Why must something be done to somebody's basement before we can enforce our laws in this country?

Sometimes I think we have folks here who look at Mexico and wonder why we can't be more like that country, a country where if the right people are paid off (mordida), certain laws just won't be enforced. And why do we have to have a strong middle class when Mexico doesn't have to have one?

What possible good would that do? If he did that, you can damn well be sure that his critics would deliberately use that as evidence of his "hatred of Mexicans". It would be untrue, that won't matter.
