Border Militia: We'll Shut Down the Border with Machine Guns

Casey Nethercott is the leader of a militia group dubbed the Arizona Guard and said during a TV interview broadcast on Friday, "When this Minuteman thing is over, if it doesn't work, we're going to come out here and close the border with machine guns."

KVOA TV-4 in Tucson carried a report on Friday by reporter Nancy Perla that toured the group's compound that sits along the Arizona/Mexico border near Douglas, Arizona. The camera showed two older model American made SUV's, both painted black, that Nethercott claims are "armored vehicles" with "quarter-inch steel in them." Pointing again to the vehicles, Nethercott continued, "You'll get killed without them, here's been so many shootouts out here."

The camera then shows a concrete block wall riddled with bullet holes that Nethercott says came from drug smugglers. The report titled "Mimicman Projects" by KVOA calls them copy cats and says the project could begin on July 4, though Nethercott would release no details.

The Minuteman Project stated through Chris Simcox, who is an organizer for the project, that they don't support a violent solution. "I think anytime you go to that length to take the law into your own hands, you're asking for trouble," Simcox told KVOA.

The armed militia supports the Minuteman Project, but says that if they fail to close the border to illegal border crossers, his group will step in and be heavily armed to do the job.

Foote is in Arizona also. They are all there. Do you think it is a co-incidence?

Do you think it is a co-incidence that the Communist Party of America, the ACLU, the Democratic Party, the SLPC, LULAC, La Raza, MECha and just about every fringe left-wing subversive cause is on the side of the Open Border Lobby?

Yeah, I would sorely like to hear that coincidence explained as well.

What you have now is an invasion, don't kid yourself. I live in a major U.S. metropolitan area (3rd largest city) that has gone from 200,000 Hispanics twenty five years ago to 1 million and counting..

No kidding involved here john. Perhaps you didn't see that particular poster's comments the other day. It spells out where that poster is coming from:

"You couldn't beat the Mexicans lead by brother Santa Anna at the Alamo - You're certainly not going to beat Mara Salvatrucha with a bunch of fat old ex-supply sergeants."

Because we lack the will.

Look how folks who up until recently we thought were stand up dumping on DeLay like punks in suits.

Sad...many Republicans...not just Snowe and the Northeast idiots....are not Conservative...not by a long shot.

I bet you aways WANTED to be a cop.

No, that has always been on my top ten list of unwanted jobs. It is interesting to see just how many illegals are working here.

But if you are up in the Catskills, you probably don't have illegals running ragged over your community, so please don't judge those of us who have to deal with the problems.

I wasn't judging anyone (with the possible exception of myself) for making the error of thinking the two groups were one and the same.

In the last seven years or so, it is extrordinary how the Hispanic population has grown in this very rural area. I have no way of knowing how many are legal or illegal but there have been several INS raids of which I am aware.

Here's a quote I think you two might like:

"In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce man brave, hated, and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot." ~Mark Twain

Take care, guys.

Mr. Robinson, Please take a look at this quote:
"You couldn't beat the Mexicans lead by brother Santa Anna at the Alamo - You're certainly not going to beat Mara Salvatrucha with a bunch of fat old ex-supply sergeants."

Travis asks: "Traitors, undeclared foreign agents, or unwitting dupes: take your pick."

The FOQNAs ["Freepers Of Questionable National Allegiance"] posting on Free Republic will never tell you which nation receives their loyalty.

For all we know, they're posting from Mexico City, drawing a Mexican government paycheck, doing their part to advance the criminal invasion of American.

That's a fair concern that Travis brings up, Jim.
We understand your concerns about any Stormfront/white supremacist types invading your site. But have you ever considered the possibility of foreign agents/provocateurs also invading your site? After all, what kind of American *citizen* would say the following?

>“You couldn't beat the Mexicans lead by brother Santa Anna at the Alamo - You're certainly not going to beat Mara Salvatrucha with a bunch of fat old ex-supply sergeants.”

I was sorry to see that Lazamataz has been either banned or suspended. I know he went over the line a number of times, but he was far from the only person doing so on this thread. It is easy to get emotionally caught up in an issue such as this, and to say things one will regret once the heat of the moment is past.

If Laz has been banned rather than suspended, I respectfully request reconsideration.

Thanks for your time. I appreciate what you do.

I suppose 100 years ago a man could make a fine living in a buggy whip shop too. That doesn't mean we should stop society to keep him employed in that line of work.

The point, which obviously escapes you, is that uncontrolled immigration, legal or illegal, pushes down the salaries due to the increased work force, particularily in the blue collar sections. This is not a new problem nor is it created by the internet (which some try to point out). Immigration issues in the US were being tightly controlled for over 100 years until the previous adminstration started relaxing the laws and underfunding the border patrol. Their goal, of course, was to pander to certain voting blocks while also playing nice with certain lobbying groups.

In the case I pointed out, brick layers and other forms of construction work, is a perfect example of an industry overrun by illegals and the resultant salaries are decreasing because of it. To compare manual labor jobs with buggy whips shows the elist attitude you hold towards blue collar workers, and is not appropriate.

To help you better understand the talking point you are trying to parrot, buggy whips are used with horse drawn carriages and suffered a loss in demand with the invention of the automobile. Therefore, if you understand the analogy, it would be fitting to compare something to a buggy whip if it were suffering a drastic decrease in demand, thereby decreasing the need for buggy whip shops.

Today, the demand for construction labor in the US has not diminished. Similarly, the demand for technologists has also not decreased and in actuality, the demand has increased. The excuse you are parroting is just another attempt to diminish the true nature of the problem, thereby showing you as a troll, a dupe, or shrill for the opposition.

For me, it's a tough choice which I cannot tolerate more... liberals or elitists.

Typical SOILs hyena pack behavior.

One suggestion on your new acronym. I would replace "National" with "American", which would then give us: FOQAAs
