Read teh Terri threads... some of them are perfectly willing to execute Schiavo and Greer themselves if given the opportunity.

They engage in a nice bit of sophistry on it. To wit: That a convicted murderer or child molestor is not "innocent" and thus may be legally deprived of Life.

However, this still does not adress the "LIFE Uber Alles" mentality.

I'm sure there are some who do not support the death penalty, either, but the calls for the deaths of MS, Greer, etc. do not exactly lend weight to that.

Well, I am against the death penalty. I haven't even dared to say it openly around here, but since this is the Smokey Backroom, and since mostly really nice people participate here on this thread, I'll dare to come out of the closet :-)
