In an effort to define palliative care, the manual provides a diagram similar to the following diagram. The guidelines position palliative care opposite life-saving therapy, as shown here:
Three Florida neurologists viewed 12 of Schiavo's CT scans on March 22 [10] (http://www.miami.edu/ethics/schiavo/CT%20scan.png). After viewing the scans, Dr. Leon Prockop (a professor and former chairman of the neurology department at the University of South Florida's College of Medicine) was quoted by the Sun-Sentinel as saying that Schiavo's scan exhibits the "most severe brain damage as I've ever seen." Dr. Walter Bradley, the chairman of neurology at the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine, said that he "doubts there's any activity going on in the higher levels of her brain."
In 2002, a trial was held to determine whether or not any new therapy treatments would help Schiavo restore any cognitive function. A new computed axial tomography scan (CAT scan) was done, and showed severe cerebral atrophy. An EEG showed no measurable brain activity.
It hasn't appeared that way, with so little outrage against the fact that she is being starved to death. 12 days of starvation now and this person who supposedly wants to die is still somehow alive.
However, I've gotten a complete explanation of why starving her like a Jew in Bergen-Belsen is completely above-board and legal.

Terri's money is controlled by the court. Michael's money, $300,000 is all he has had access to. Period.
The Wolfson Report mentions how the money is controlled by the court; MS has NO access to it.
The WOlfson Report also mentions that MS volunteered to relinquish his financial interest in Terri's estate in the event she dies. The Schindlers declined to take him up on that offer. If they had taken him up on the offer, there would have been no motive that they could play to the media and naive.

I heard Dr. H., when asked about patients like Terri that he's treated, started talking about a patient with cerebral palsey and all of the wonderful things he was able to do for her. Now, excuse me, but cerebral palsey is not the same problem that Terri has. Talking about dancing around the question. The host on that particular show didn't challenge him, either.
