I used to supervise a call center offering customer service to "men pay, women call for free" telephone chat-lines. These lines are quite popular, usually advertised on late night television and many of the different lines are owned by the same company.
Basically men purchase time to talk on these lines with women (who BTW, are real people, not employed by us). The system works by recognizing the area code you are calling from and thus you talk to women in your local calling area. We called our service "People Meeting People."
Because women called for free one aspect of our job was to monitor their "greetings" --the short message they leave about themselves to pique a man's interest. We were looking for girls who sounded underage, men trying to use female voices to get on the female side for free, and women trying to solicit sex for money.
Many, many of these women left very XXX-rated greetings! These were OK as long as they weren't illegal activity. You would not believe how many "rape fantasies" I heard in those greetings! Literally, women who fantasized about men breaking into their homes and raping them! They would leave a message and then hook up with an un-monitered one-on-one conversation with the guy, give him directions to her house and whatnot.
Lord, the stories I could tell about working for five years for this company!
