Don't you think if your child was missing - you would spend every chance you got in front of the cameras? Myself, I would not want to but to get out the word and possibly even change the abductor's heart (not likely) - it's a thing you gotta do even when your heart has gone insane with worry and grief.

Actually I don't think I would be in front of the camera at all I would be medicated for sure. I would let another family member do it.
