As I learn more about this case it gets more disturbing...

If we assume that he kept Jessica alive for 24-48 hours - how is it possible for the following:

1) That nobody searched that home

2) That he could kill her and then bury her in the yard

How is possible with all the search activity going on that the surrounding area wasn't under surveillance?

Why weren't the police positioned in the area 24 hours a day?

That home has to be of suspicion from the beginning. How can the Sheriff explain this.

Bottom line is the legal system failed Jessica years before this happened, it failed her right before it happened, failed her when it happened and continues to fail her now. And now they have to go to extraordinary measures to keep this scumbag alive...why didn't they go to those extraordinary measures to try to save her.

She was held captive and murdered less than 150 yards from her home. There were many people here on FR that pointed out the homes in the area that needed scrutiny.

As time goes on I am sure we will get more information that makes this even more disturbing.

Notice how angry Mark is getting...he should be angry this whole scenario is a complete outrage.

I think I read where Couey took Jessica to "his" place, not his half sisters. I did read somewhere his place was a couple miles away from the half sisters.I don't know how he got Jessica back and forth. I presume he used the half sisters car or truck, unless he walked! If he did he would have had to carry Jessica back to his halfsisters trailer to bury her. If I hear for sure I'll let you know-you do the same for me. Thanks

From January -April 2004 Couey worked at Homosassa Elementary School for four months,the school Jessica went to. He also had direct contact with students and teachers during the project. It's unknown whether Couey had contact with Jessica. He also worked at Crystal River Middle School doing remodeling in the cafeteria.

Citrus County probation officials didn't know Couey was a registered sex offender.Couey failed to register last November and he moved.Check out the "St. Petersburg Times"
