Well, let's have more "shameless" posts! While we are at it, I think that we need to start challenging and ferreting out the pin, ribbon, medal festooned, boonie hat wearing psychopathic phonies that are always claiming "top secret missions" and fantastical feats of heroism for what they are.
The tools are available to us, FOIA and a number of very helpful websites for exposing phony SEALs for example. Why do we feel like we have to defer to these idiots? They can be confronted in a polite manner but firmly and see where it leads after that.
Let's destroy this myth of Vietnam Vets being portrayed as jobless, shiftless, homeless psychopaths. Hard to do since Hollyweird set the stage on that issue.

Bump!
was arrested
not going to dig it all up - but it's seems to've been pretty well established that he, as a naval officer, did "aid and give comfort to the enemy".
...received a "less than",not a dishonorable...
was released in @72 from service -
did not throw "his" medals away, but admitted he threw someone else's (his medals would have been turned in when given a 'less than"
...was a family friend of Tedddy boy...
very first act of Pres Carter was to pardon 'Nam protesters who had refused to serve...,
this did not include Kerrry who HAD served...He got his "honorable" discharge in '78, many years after discharge,,,but only after a special board hearing. then one day after becoming senator, he got all his medals reissued and hung them on his office wall...
Moral of the story: It helps to have shady friends in D.C.
BARF
he wasn't smart enough, or brave enough - and he was despised.
however, I once read an interesting story that might well explain where "W" was when no one can pin it down...He was a fighter pilot - and a good one. He was educated. He would've been a prime pick for some secret missions (heck they asked my son - in 71...and he didn't have near the education or training)
and the story goes that "W" pulled off some secret missions in 'nam.
Now that scenario, I can believe...right up his alley...and training
I love that theory and sure hope someday, if true, it comes out! ( After all this time, wouldn't those records be "unsealed"?)
Wouldn't that frost the a*s of a lot of libs...LOL
Odd thing is, if you look at Kerry's acceptance an "honorable" discharge, it's dated Feb 16, 1978. That was a year after Jimmy Carter signed Executive Order 11967 - Implementation of pardon for violations of act, August 4, 1964 to March 28, 1973

Wasn't Kerry's original duty supposed to have been up in 1972?
Let's keep the pressure on Hanoi John until his military records are public.
I still think it's a possibility that the words "Unfit for Command" appear somewhere in his folder.
I agree that under normal circumstances Naval Reserve duty can be extended beyond the normal discharge date, however, on Kerry's DD214 (I'm a veteran and I'm familiar with what a 214 is) his Terminal Date of Reserve Obligation (Block 16) shows a date of 17 Feb 72.

Additionally, Block 30 Remarks states that no discharge certificate was issues at the time of separation. That's sort of odd, isn't it? And I might have missed it, but I don't find a date on his 214.
And yet, another, oddity is that he has posted a DD215 dated 12 Mar 2001 which "corrects" his date of separation to 01 Mar 70.

The "interesting" thing about that is it would predate his separation from the Naval Reserves to be before his having met with the North Vietnamese delegation in Paris which took place in early 1970. Strange coincidence of timing, huh?
Please Please keep the pressure on so he can be cut off at the pass before he even tries to run again. I couldn't take it. My father-in-law was just visiting and as a veteran of W2 he had never read "Unfit for Command". He was appalled. The word about Kerry still isn't out there. If it was he wouldn't have gotten 48 percent. He must be stopped even before the primaries. Somethings "UP" about this record release.
