I have never made any pretense why I fight my fight. I'm part of that gringo culture you're not so crazy about....in fact I am part of the most reliable segment of that gringo culture when it comes to voting conservatives into office.....the White Southern Male. I make no apologies for that.

It was actually a guy from the Philipines who first got me appreciating the "anglo" culture we inherited from the British. He said the best thing for his country was American rule over it --- that they were backward before, suffered greatly under hispanic rule and benefitted under American rule. He claimed the very best thing is to be a former British colony --- gave examples --- India, Hong Kong, Canada, Austratlia, the USA --- all places that gained something very valuable from British influences. Then he mentioned the Philipines, Puerto Rico as examples that the American values which are descended from British values that have benefitted. In fact as he pointed out --- it's generally terrible to be a former colony --- almost all former colonies are in terrible shape --- except for the British colonies and a few American influenced places.
