The shot heard around the Internet has been fired on FreeRepublic.com The owner Jim Robinson and his moderators have launched a sniper style purge against members that disagree with the Presidents guest worker amnesty or support more control of illegal immigration. Free Republic is an amazing tool for those looking for a good debate and news from around the country.
The problem for the administration of the site is that their creation is allowing the participants to learn that the Bush immigration record and plans are shockingly out of line with the views of most conservatives. The managements answer to this conflict between the majority of conservatives and the influence of the White House on their Web site has become electronic executions and censorship.
Members and readers of Free Republic would be surprised to know that many members of their community have fallen silent on the discussions about illegal immigration lately because free speech is an illusion on FR.com. They are silent because they have been banned from the Web site without warning, cause, or explanation in most cases. For weeks the moderators have been suspending and banning new members that chimed in quickly on the immigration debates.
Now this trend has broadened as the first groups of long-term users were suspended or banned this past week. Although Robinson and his staff removed many members of the Free Republic community in the first few days of the purge, those that religiously support President Bushs immigration plan, open borders and approve of public benefits for illegal aliens remain on the forum. Those that were banned were the members that wanted more done to control illegal immigration and a strict observance to the Presidents Oath of Office.
Our population has doubled in the last 50 years and is growing at a very high rate --- and that's not saving social security. Ironically --- Mexico's social security system is even in bigger trouble, due to collapse sooner than ours --- so it makes no sense that adding millions of Mexican retirees to our system can save it. Especially when their criminal employers only hired them to avoid paying into social security as well as workman's comp.
Yes I have. I also know that he/sher is only here for argument. Sometimes I play and sometimes I don't.
Do you just want to verify my story?
But unless they don't wanna wait 6 years for gall-bladder surgery, most people from the Great White North love their socialist worker's paradise. If they came down here they'd have to actually work!
From what I understand anyway, a few Canadian provinces in the west would like to secede from Canada and join us.
We need a somewhat open border to the north so all these "American" hate-their-own-country liberals can go there.
;-)
Tsk, tsk. Such anger. One other suggestion, then I will ignore you. Go to your profile page, reread your first four words, and think about your attitude.
The "Social Security is going broke" argument is the one we've been hearing lately from those who support open borders. In reality it's nothing but a ponzi scheme. You can keep bringing in people to prop it up but what do you do when they retire? Import millions more to support them? We might as well throw open our borders using that logic.
Yes.
This is a joke right.
Look, I've kept up with it, as have many others here.
You want to know the rules?
The keep up with what's going on here, that's YOUR job, not mine.
Combining the populations of two countries and putting them under our one plan because the Mexico's plan is in terrible shape --- worse off than ours --- makes no sense at all.
Which is exactly why Mexico is so in favor it. They know a good deal when they see one.
And his name is ..... HighFlyer
Thats nice. You still haven't given a good reason NOT to mine the border.
It doesn't have to be a monsterous fence! 2 12' chain link fences 100 feet apart should do the trick, with signs in both english and spanish.
Property values on the border are already horrible because of the crime and streams of illegals. You'd think that ending it with a chain link fence could only improve them.
Plus, think about the danger, cost, and problems the rest of the country is burdened by because of the illegal alien invasion. The few issues you raised are minor in comparison.
You are they kinda guy who sacrifices the good for the perfect.
Guns and Tom. It's like a dark twisted fantasy. I could dress up in my Border Rescue outfit and mutter under my breath "Your name is Jaun...PULL! Your name is Jaunitta heh heh heh...PULL!" It also says "It is a great place to enjoy a fine cigar."
This guy see racism in everything. 'Methinks he dost protest too much!'
You have an article from Newsmax and the ranting of a Mexican politician to an audience of Mexican journalists, and I have a document from the US government.
The Texas way is definitely the way it should be done. If a state or territory of another country wishes to declare it's independence --- even with bloodshed if that's what it takes --- and then petition to join the USA, that is the right way of doing it.

Since you've done such a good job at keeping up with the authors who's are articles censored from the site and I have not, then please provide me with the list you compiled. Either that or point me to the location on this website that displays this list which I have not yet found.
No bans or suspensions in his record. It may or may not have happened as you described, because sometimes things go unlogged. (Lapses happen).
If you have any more details, please feel free to give them in the forum, or via abuse report.
Sorry, I spelled it wrong it's HighFlier
