"If people could grow it outdoors, legally, it would be quite easy and cheap to do"

A community may decide that the plants are too accessible by children.

It's all about the Mighty Dollar with the FDA. Funny they will spend millions to look for people growing Pot in the privacy of there own home.... Not that there are real crimes out there they could put there money into fighting

The people of Chicago always seem to get the short end of the stick. ; )

Daly, Democrats, liberals. High crime, high prices, gun control...you get what you vote for. Or what dead people vote for. 8^0

I missing your point. Are you saying that these drunken fights will go away if we legalize pot?

What would change, other than we would have people out and about getting high in addition to getting drunk?

This is a good thing?

It's not just the FDA, although federal regulations do set the requirements, but they don't charge a half million bucks for drug approval. It just costs that much or more to do the R&D for approval. For the gooberment it's more about control than money. They can get plenty of money right out of the general fund.

If you continue to say that I've used drugs, I will hit the abuse button.

OH NO!!!! Please don't tell the hall monitors on me!!!!!

LOL

Ya know, when YOU start by calling people druggies and YOU start saying people have sobered up and all that nonsense, YOU get what you give.

This whole thing is in the smoky back room, where all your threads end up, so no one cares. You "never say one way or the other" for a reason.

If you don't want to be challenged on your drug use, you should stop implying that others who disagree with you use them. Grow up, act like an adult, and you will get treated like one. But every single time you make any comment about other people using drugs, I will point out your past use. Every single time.

I am saying most Fights especially in the Bars that are on every street corner and in every city are caused by to people indulging in to much Alcohol.

Pot Smokers are not the cause of the multitude of social problems caused by Addiction to Alcohol No Comparrison.

Growing up in a family where Alcohol was a problem I wished my Dad would of smoked Pot, it would of been a much happier household...

Actually, when you come right down to it, it makes no sense putting young and healthy folks in jail for an herb that makes them feel better. Flame resistant suit ON.

Marijuana is simply not in the same category as hard drugs.

Should be legal and regulated.

A community may decide that the plants are too accessible by children.

If so, A community may decide that certain people should be slaves.

While I doubt the accuracy of your contention it has no bearing on the time period I was referring to. That statement was completely accurate.

The accuracy is 100%. I was there. I was part of it. Acid wasn't more expensive before 1970.

I can't speak for Chicago in any time period, I'll give you that. I lived in Aurora Colorado. $25 per tab is ridiculous in the Sixties. That would be equivalent to about $200 - $300 now. You could buy a ski lift ticket for $8 in '72.

I have never seen a person high on pot get belligerent. I have seen many, many drunk people get aggressive.

Exactly!
The Social Problems have always come from Alcoholism and Hard Drugs Legal and illegal

The Social Problems have always come from people who use them. The substances do different things. The people are looking for a certain feeling. The people are responsible for what they do. Blaming the substances is to transfer that responsibility.

I understand that part.

The part I don't understand is how the legalization of marijuana will make those drunken brawls go away.

If the legalization of marijuana will have no effect on that behavior (it won't), then why bring it up?

Unless you're trying to make the point that people will switch from drinking alcohol to smoking pot. Are you saying that? And what makes you think that?

I've said it before. I've known scotch drinkers and beer drinkers that won't even switch brands, much less switch to smoked marijuana.

A community may decide that the plants are too accessible by children.

I'm sure they might. That has nothing to do with my statement. I was contrasting the relative difficulty of growing pot (weed) outdoors vs. home distilling of liquor.

Carry on.

You are making this personal, and are making personal statements about me that have no basis in fact.

Don't.
