"Christ taught us how to pray 'The Our Father'. Is this the only prayer you pray? Who taught you the others?"
Specifically word for word NO, however there was no 'hail Mary' here it was to the FATHER. I pray to the Heavenly Father the one who create all souls and in the name of Jesus Christ. Mary is not in that line.
The rest of your post totally lost me. Christ telling John to look after his mother was a very natural thing, and it was Peter, Christ told to establish His church as the bride not brother or sister.
The bride was to be a Virgin not worshiping another god.
I guess you have to be taught this idea that Mary is our 'mother' from childhood. Eve was told she was the mother of all living, because it was through her that Christ was to come. Why do you think the serpent/devil sought to destroy her?
You are stumbling close to the truth here. The Virgin Mary is often seen as the New Eve. To the Mother of God was given the task of crushing the serpents head, just as Divine Prophecy said. She did this by being the "handmaid of the Lord" accepting her role in the Birth, life, death and Resurection of Our Lord. To deny her role is to deny the truth of the Holy Writ. To deliberately and blindly assert that asking others to pray for us is the same as worshiping them is to equally deny the truth. Are the many prayer threads on FR idolatry?
