We have just a short hop up to I-20 and then the long, dreary ride across most of Texas. We will probably take the bypass from El Paso to Alamogordo and then down to Holloman, instead of going through Cruces. Then we will go through Cruces on our way to Phx.
The first time I came to AZ we by-passed El Paso and spent the night at Cloud Croft. It was worth the trip. If I could have, I would have by-passed El Paso again.
I've been across Texas from N to S, and E to W, and I am glad I am back in the desert in a "small" state!
