It never ceases to amaze whenever I hear some writer for The Economist, or reporter from the "Beeb", express befuddlement at our Bill of Rights.

For some reason, the fact that someone's right to defend their person and possessions is enshrined in our Constitution is somehow highly offensive to elite English sensibilities.

I must have overlooked that part of the Magna Carta that explicitly states that England is obligated to have the highest property crime rate of the civilized, Western world.

(Prolonged eye roll.)
