As my therapist so succinctly put it: If you don't take care of yourself, you can't take care of others;

How true. Something as little as remembering to eat one's veggies is tough for me.

...no one else will take care of you because you are a big person, now.

Yes, I am a big person. A bit too big!

I have a hard time taking care of ME because I have always watched out for others. Siblings, friends, kids, dogs, cats, fish, older adults, teens in trouble, birds...anyone who needs something.

So learning how to really take care of ME is not a concept I accept easily...it is alien for me. And it may be the root cause of my CFIDS.

But I still leave myself behind. It has not been fair to my kids. (Think about that.)
