"...I am sorry for your losses. I keep saying, if heaven doesn't have my animal babies there, I don't want to go!"
I like to believe that life goes on, even after death. I also believe that any animal who died while in your care will be with you in the Eternities. Every living thing has a "soul" of some kind, from a blade of grass to an elephant. All things that live on this earth are marked, noted and cared about.
"...now, she has this thing about her tail... she gets into chasing it and totally misplaces her situational awareness..."
Hobbes is the same way. She is the first cat I have ever had that chases her tail. It is a fairly short tail, but I think it's because she doesn't know she can jump, so she doesn't use her tail for balance. But I get a lot of enjoyment out of seeing her chase it!
I was thinking of a chiuwawa (spelling, I'm sure) and so inquired. No dogs of any size at all are allowed. Besides chiuwawa are very loud dogs. But I love them!
Although the new policy states no "pets" of any kind, they do allow birds and other small animals. The reason, as I see it, the lawyer couldn't be specific as to the kinds of pets are allowed and which ones are not, are to avoid any discrimination suits by tenants. Hence the generic term, "pets" had to be used. But, small pets are definitely allowed, except dogs of any size.
Oh, well, someday when I move to Long Island perhaps I'll have a new "best friends."
Have $$$$$ before you move here.
"best friends." should read "best friend."
Coffee is not helping.
I wonder if some Spumante will help? Will ask DC when he comes back to us. :)
After a post like that, I feel as though I knew the Great Brown Beast myself. ;O)
Of course, a Shep/Sheltie mix was bound to be very loving. Sounds like she was a great friend.
I can afford Sherley, Suffolk County.
That's where my brother lives. He walks to Mastyc Beach.
Good photo, but our castle is on Loch Ness...NnB set it down there, quietly and gently. I suspect our pleio...underwater dinosaur has found a friend beneath the chilly waves...
Well if you are living with your brother that's different. Buying a house is out of the question but then again you could be rich and my post would be pointless. House prices are out of control.
Not in Sherley.
I know prices there and I can afford it.
I sold a three family house before moving to Westchester and had realized some capital gains before the bust a few years ago.
I'm definitely not rich, but can afford to live in Suffolk.
Yes you can, but stop calling me Shirley.
Mostly, i think it appies to any small thing that lives in a cage... so birds, guinea pigs, hamsters....
I don't usually like small dogs, but i LOVED the little guy from the "Taco Bell" commercials!
:-)
LOL!
I knew I had it mispelled.
I am always to polite, no matter where I am. I continue to say "Good morning!" and the response is always, "Buenas dias!"
I actually got an entire sentence out two months ago...I was reprimanded for saying "Good morning" and when the woman insisted I say "Buenas dias."
In my limited Spanish, I said, "NO! This is the US! You learn American! In Mexico, I speak Mexican!. No habla Espanol!"
She hasn't spoken to me since.
Suffolk is generally cheaper.
"I was thinking of a chiuwawa (spelling, I'm sure) and so inquired. No dogs of any size at all are allowed. Besides chiuwawa are very loud dogs. But I love them!"
"Chihuahua" After the Mexican state of the same name.
Thanks.
:-)
I just wish I had a picture.
She was so great, was my good old girl.
ANd she was a friend to my cats!
When my Siamese was little, she used to sprar with Tansy.
Silly little cat, would go and bat at Tansy's snout. ....And Tansy would simply lie down on the kitty. And then let her up.
Tansy sometimes carried the kitty in her huge jaws, too.
And then they would curl up for a nap together.
Yes, a lot cheaper than Nassau.
I wouldn't be able to afford a lot to build there.
But a small home (a large cape perhaps) in the 200-250k range I can afford. Taxes are high I hear.

Spumante is good for what ails ya!
