Actually very little of the 86 billion was for building power plants, roads, schools, etc. Most of it was to fund the troops fighting over there.
And when the gas prices come down, I don't think you will be so unhappy about a little money being spent in Iraq!
And there is nothing liberal about tax money being used to fund the military and its operations. Strong national defense is at the very heart of both conservative and libertarian thought.

if the money only went to military operations that would help lessen my resentment. however, i also dont like seeing our soldiers getting killed because they have to fight in urban combat rather than letting the bombers take care of business.
im not sure if ill be happy if gas prices go down as that might affect my portfolio negatively.
