The head of a CIS delegation observing disputed election results in the Ukraine was beaten up by a group of opposition supporters after the observer praised the much disputed election results for their transparency.
Alexei Kochetkov, the head of the CIS-EMO mission in the Ukraine, telephoned to say he had been assaulted by a group of people wearing orange ribbons, a symbol of support for pro-western opposition candidate Yushchenko, who, according to the disputed preliminary results, lost the presidential race, the Interfax news agency reported.
On Monday, after observers from the United States and Europe widely criticized the elections for fraud and their failure to meet democratic standards, the CIS joined President Vladimir Putin in endorsing the pro-Moscow candidate, Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich, and announced that the elections were transparent.
Although the assailants were wearing orange ribbons, Sergei Mirzoyev, a representative of another observing mission who spoke to Kochetkov, said they may have just been hooligans that do not belong to any side.
The mark of Soros.
Sore Loserman essentialy tried the same stuff..........only the publicans had enough juevos to stand up to Gore.
>The "pro-Western" opposition are nothing more than a bunch >of guys trying to steal a election they lost. Soros has >thrown a lot of cash at the election and he is sure pissed >about getting slammed twice in 2 months.
>Sore Loserman essentialy tried the same >stuff..........only the publicans had enough juevos to >stand up to Gore
Oh, Of course, GPS suppressor selling Kuchma/Yanukovich are BEST friends of the USA..
50,000,000 people, sick and tired living under communist mafia bosses - all paid by sores..
I guess the guy hasn't been using the "transparency" phrase long enough to allow the people to begin to believe the lie. He needs to be coached by our DNC - then he would have been touting the phrase for the last 6 months to prime them for the old switcheroo...
He "telephoned to say" this to Moscow News huh? Well I'm convinced. Lucky that the guys who beat him up were wearing orange ribbons. Otherwise how would we have gotten the clear message that Yuschenko's supporters are all thugs?
I'm not saying I necessarily doubt the guy was attacked (although this article is sparse on details. Did he go to a hospital? What are his injuries? Can he be photographed?). But this is the kind of silly attempt at propaganda you'd expect... if, of course, we were talking about a country where propaganda was ever employed... just hypothetically speaking, of course...
More like the mark of Putin.
They "lost" the election because votes were stolen from them and manufactured for their opponent. That's, um, not how it's supposed to work.
The pro western opposition can and have proven their claims of assault and fraud.
Supreme Court of Ukraine already said that at least 1,000,000 votes were faked. If you read people letters you will see that government were driving people in _buses_ to vote in all polling places, there were already filled ballots for Yanukovich etc..

Actually, since you are so quick to dismiss everything, this is a LIBERAL INDEPENDENT Russian Newspaper. Not everyone speaks with the same voice of the MSM who only a month ago told you you were an idiot to vote for Bush.
If it's such a fraud, follow the link. God, you are a one track mind. Oh if the MSM doesn't say it it can't be true, except on anything that matters to me. Well I'll just start to believe everything the MSM tells me: Bush stole two elections, Republicans are all idiots, France is always right, Gore wanted to save the world, Israeli Jews are evil, Islam is your friend, Iraq is lost oh and this one: Yuschenko won.
Except for the 49% that voted the other way, but you'll talk for all of them. God, glad the democrats didn't have your resolve to speak for all of us americans. Oh and don't forget that Yuschenko is kissing the Franco-Germanic-Spainard 4th Reich collective arse and already promised to screw us on Iraq. But those are the small details.

Do you understand how "elections" are held in totalitarian mafia controled contries??? Do you know how people are told by thier employers (which are 60% state) that if you don't vote for Yanukovich you are fired? Students told they are not going to pass exams..
Then goverment takes polling boxes and drives them in Unknown direction, no witnesses, no nothing..
Gee, some 50% of Americans work for the government at some level, guess we're totalitarian in your little book.
Maybe you didn't notice, Vesti's Kerry view and Putin's don't agree.
Worked for a leftist politician in Russia who got busted by his wife while he was in Ukraine with his girlfriend. Started screaming he was kidnapped and forced to have sex with beautiful women for blackmail. The whole Western MSM picked it up and started running with it, as Putin trying to get rid of the competition, never mind this guy had less then 2% of the vote.
