Exactly my point. Something other than a random combination, such as hydrogen and oxygen combining to make water, is at play here. Survival of the fittest, which I believe, requires the arrival of the fit.

His point was that the mere existence of life itself -- not its orign, but the fact that it continues to exist -- violates your interpretation of the 2nd Law. Your interpretation would say that it is impossible for a human to grow from a child to an adult, and that it's impossible for the child to come into existence in the first place.

He's saying that your understanding of the Law is flawed, and it is.
