I see no similiarity between your views on the Civil War and those two at all. They don't mindlessly defend the Slavers.

i don't defend the slavers at all.(in point of fact, the slavers COLLORATED with the invading army all too frequently, in return for promises to keep their slaves. had we won our war against the north, the slaveowning elites might well have been next on the enemies list.)

as only 5-6% of southerners EVER owned a slave & slavery was DYING by 1861, it just was NOT the reason (or even a MAJOR reason) that the south sought to free herself from the grip of the damnyankee elites. the 1861 war against the damnyankees was nothing more or less than a PEASANT REVOLT against the rich & powerful.

my ancestors just wanted to be FREE. their motivation was no different than that of the patriots of 1776.
