You are an absolute idiot if you think we can seal our thousands of miles of borders. Have you taken a look at a map of the United States recently. There aren't enough troops in ANY army to secure our border. We'd have to create the biggest government program in history to even approach shutting it down. Yet, even as open as it is, we have somehow managed to survive since 9/11 without a single terrorist incident hitting this country. Go figure.

Yup, you're right, the task is impossible for us even though the Soviet Union did it and even though we are under threat of atomic terrorist attack, and even though new technologies abound, so no point in even trying.
