There is no denying that when you put exciting spin on a theology ala the Left Behind series it is hard to complete when all you have is the simplicity of Bible truth. Dispensationalism makes things "relevant". It's easier to get your theology from LaHaye novels than from the Word of God.
I guess the Church had been all wrong for 1800 years of covanental theology.

Sound bite theology is so much easier than actually doing the work to learn how to properly interpret Scripture.
Btw, I'm a literalist myself.
I interpret the Scriptures in the sense they are written.
I interpret history as history. Allegory as allegory. Poetry as poetry. Figures of speech as figures of speech. Metaphor as metaphor, etc.
It doesn't sell as many books though.
