I just keep mulling over this 'tactical mistake' argument.
It just isn't logical.
To argue this is to argue that surrender is the right course tactically.
It sounds downright French, as an argument.

So, if you were a General at war, would you commit your troops to unnecessarily fight a battle that you know is nearly impossible to win?
