Where did the good Doctor reside at the time that he announced his candidacy?

My understanding of the situation was that after the Jack Ryan situation, and Mike Ditka not running, they didnt have anyone to put up.

Leaving aside for the moment that the whole Jack Ryan mess was entirely avoidable, it just isn't true that there wasn't anyone to run. But the national party has made it clear that they're writing off Illinois, and therefore weren't going to put any money into the state. Under those circumstances, qualified candidates wouldn't take on the job because there was no financial support.

Keyes wasn't asked because of his conservative principles. He was asked because he will attract out-of-state money.

It will take Keyes, 48 hours to destroy Obama, by wednesday obamasama will be crying for his mama and Illinois will see what a wimpy wuss he is.

Then Keyes will let loose on flushing the johns.

Dems in full rout retreat.

some of these FREEPERS are pissing on Keyes' chances before the horse is even out of the gate.

Nothing new.... You have some on this thread that won't vote for President Bush but support someone else.... So it's a mixed bag.

If Keyes accepts the offer then he'll most likely get the support of most of the GOP. I'd bet that the President will stand beside him on some platform in Illinois at some point during the campaign.

You are an honorary member of Obama's cheerleading squad.

You tried this on the thread last night, and it didn't work then either. Just because I'm not happy about the state party giving up and importing someone from the East Coast does not make me an Obama supporter.

If you have a contribution to make to the debate, that's great. But if you're just going to try and discredit people who disagree with you, it isn't a compelling way to forward your point of view.

As the saying goes nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Godspeed to Allan Keyes.

Keyes is the selection, so get over it and get on board, or get on over to DU. But don't act like you're not trying to undermine Keyes and then complain about the way I "forward" my "point of view", you rank hypocrite.

Obama IS part of Jesse Jackson's mafia. He is black, democratic, he IS pro baby killing, and that is gonna come out - that he, along with the rest of the worthless liberals in this country support the murder of 1000 black babies every single day.

We don't. Keyes don't and the dems are facing their worst nightmare!

this means that the GOP finally has the guts to go behind Keyes as opposed to letting him be a token speaker. i just wish it didn't have to be in this way
