Let the debates begin.
Former Presidential hopeful Dr. Alan Keyes has told Illinois Republicans that he would accept their request to take on Democrat Barack Obama in the US Senate race.
Members of the Republican State Central Committee insisted that the former radio and television commentator make the promise to run before they would give him the nod Wednesday night, sources told the Chicago Sun Times on Thursday.
The Republicans were leery of voting to give Keyes the nomination without some guarantees.
So he went back into the room and bascially said, 'If you offer, than I will accept.'
Another GOP source said that Keyes had agreed to accept the nomination but told the committee that he wanted to wait until he could publicly announce it at a 'campaign style' rally on Sunday.
'He told them that he would do it,' the source said. 'he just wanted to take a few days to put things together and make his announcement.'

You're not loyal to the GOP, Luis. The GOP invited Dr Keyes to run. The President would have approved that invitation. Speaker Hastert is going to appear for Dr Keyes, perhaps the President will too. JR was delighted to hear this news, last night.

This seems a hail marry candidacy.
To have a shot keys is going to have to attack negative fast and run hard and heavy AND, this is the sticky part, some heavy hitters will have to make appearances with him.
Obama's mixed past will have to be attacked. His commie philosophy will have to be attacked. Obama's lack of support for the FMA must become an issue.
In the end the black vote will still be 90+% for the DNC candidate.
ANYBODY tell me keys has a shot of bringing another R to the senate.

I just can't wait to hear these two debate.
This will be far better than the typical conservative versus RINO debate in which we typically find Alan Keyes.
Conservative American values versus the Democrat's pandering and destructive socialist agenda.

Dr. Keyes is a man who can speak. Some homo-liberal-journalist said that when he listened to Dr. Keyes he was almost persuaded to follow him. Can't remember the name of the book right now.
