Did you even read my first post -- the one where everyone started to attack me for?

I was quoting a friend who worked at a Rape Crisis Center and was explaining that many woman have sex after being raped -- it is not unusual.

That was a fact but someone who has knowledge in that field and based upon many women coming to the center that she herself interviews.

Then note the insults to my comment.

Actually that wasn't your first post, this was:

To: T. Jefferson

Why? He raped her.

And then you trashed ME with your next post:

To: Alcibiades

Re Howlin's comment: He knew LAST OCTOBER that there was another man involved AFTER the fact.

Well, it is obvious that Howlin doesn't know much about rape and how women act after being raped. My friend runs a woman's shelter and gives many training sessions to police officers in North Carolina. One of her techniques is to pick an officer and have him leave the room. They she explains that many women have a reaction to rape that many men don't understand and that she plans to demonstrate as an example of NOT JUDGING THE WOMAN INCORRECTLY. She then proceeds to flirt with and place her hands on the policeman's arms and rubs them while telling him what happened and also crying. The unsuspecting policeman almost always freaks out about it and in discussion afterwards tells her that he didn't believe she was really raped.

The truth is that a large percentage of woman use sex as a type of comfort to bring back some normalcy in their minds after being raped. It is more common that most people think. In fact, last night O'Reilly had a rape counselor on that same almost the same thing.

You are not following proper protocol when you discuss another poster without pinging the poster you are discussing..

It is not right to say "don't post to me" and then discuss and insult the same poster.Personal attacks are not OK..Attacking and discussing opinions and facts are OK. Have a source to cite when arguing facts....

Wait a minute. You are saying that your friend, who is a "counselor" who helps rape victims, says that "many" women have sex (consensually) soon after being raped?

Did it ever occur to you that your friend was b.s.-ing you, or perhaps was a victim of phony stories or phony statistics?

I worked in a prosecutor's office for years and as a result, I often became familiar with the facts of rape cases. I can tell you that seldom did the facts indicate that the victim had had consensual sex so soon after being raped that it threatened to complicate the samples of a "rape kit".

I have also had occasion to talk with some rape victims, though not as a counselor. I can tell you that it is far more the norm for a victim to have problems just bringing herself to consider having sex AT ALL, even with a trusted partner--that's far more common than it would be for the victim to casually go out and have consensual sex w/in 24 hours of the rape.

I haven't interviewed every rape victim, nor have you or your friend, but judging from the rape cases I have known about, it just sounds totally absurd to say that "many" rape victims have consensual sex within a day of their rape. It goes against everything I've ever learned about how rape victims behave. Many of them are unable to have sex of any kind for a long, long time.

I don't know the facts of Kobe's case, but I still want to know why this woman originally voluntarily went to his hotel room, b/c I heard that she did just that.

I think a lot of celebrities (especially the more stupid ones) are seen by some opportunists as having a big target on their wallet. I don't know if this woman is an opportunist or not. I do know there is at least one website that says she is.

PS Do you have any other hobbies besides going around and making outrageous statements, apparently only for the thrill of ticking off lots of people?
