Levin: Kobe talking plea deal for non-sex crime
Harvey Levin via Good Day Live | Self

Posted on 08/04/2004 10:56:48 AM PDT by GAGOPSWEEPTOVICTORY

According to Harvey Levin ("Celebrity Justice") from sources connected with both sides in Eagle, Colorado:

1) Kobe accepts a plea bargain for a non-sex crime misdemeanor such as Third-Degree assault. (misdemeanor, Kobe might get probation, wouldn't have to register as sex offender).

2) Kobe settles the civil case. Pays a financial settlement. Gives letter of apology saying, "that even though Kobe Bryant belived that he was doing nothing wrong, that she felt she had been assaulted in the hotel room, and for that he was sorry."

No plea deals struck, but parties talking about it.

Have you been keeping up with this case at all?

There was NO anal sex.

And the woman in Florida is NOT on the Mark Hurlburt's witness list; that should tell you how much credence the DA put into her testimony.

I saw what you said; Levin has yet to be proven right.

Yeah remain willfully ignorant. You of course constantly reveal:

1. You failed to read the preliminary hearing testimony.

2. You are a gossip monger quite willing to substitute gossip for facts.

3. You have no understanding of the judical system.

The Loud and Clear Message he SHOULD HAVE gotten is keep it in your pants when you are a married man!

I think we all agree with that message.

A 10 millon dollar civil suit settlement still looks awfully suspicious. Kind of like the 20 million one that Michael Jackson engineered

I'll be honest I haven't followed this thing closely. I wish they would open up the proceedings and let people see for themselves. That would kill most of the rumors and leaks which are sleaze tactics from both sides. The judge in this case seems to have totally botched it.

Don't disagree. I trust you have a corresponding message to young ladies.

Does any of the testimony even matter now? Kobe is going to get a deal, the girl walks off with millions and the guilty goes off basically scot free..what a joke!

Where are you getting this 10 millon dollars?

Are you aware of the fact that this girl wants OUT of this case because she has been proven a liar? She had sex with another man within 8 hours of what she calls rape.

She showed up at the rape exam with somebody else's MOTILE sperm on her, FGS.

IMO, the judge has done the best he can do with a prosecutor who has been hiding evidence behind the Rape Shield Laws.

He knew LAST OCTOBER that there was another man involved AFTER the fact.

(Leaving aside the releases of court information, of course; that was inexcusable.)

_______________________________________________________

The DA botched it by taking this loser case. The judge did a very good job.

Nothing was release that would not eventually come out in open court. The DA and his criminal accuser are blaming the judge to escape their own problems. I am waiting for the DA now to charge this criminal who lied to him after she made a complaint about Mr. Bryant.

It seems to me that a good lawyer should always consider discussing a plea deal - if only to get a reading of the other side's confidence in its own case. What would be interesting to know is which side proposed this particular plea deal - Kobe, the DA, or the accuser.

Yeah I read the document released yesterday. I also read all of the preliminary hearing testimony.

But many come here and comment not knowing anything about this case. They chose to be ignorant because the facts undermine their preconceived opinion.

I agree 100 percent; in fact, I believe they are required to listen and discuss the offer with their client.

I'd bet my house it's NOT Pam Mackey.

Hulbert is guilty of a grotesque abuse of discretion for bringing this case.
